Ok Lazyboy Postcard travelers ...we are going back in time ...Civil War time..on our vacation earlier this year we were taken to this site in Durham NC. They have a very informative presentation there. Having lived many years in Civil War country in Spotsylvania Va I was excited to gain knowledge of this site. These guys can't be the real guys  but the place is a "must" for Civil War followers.

Biltmore NC Clipper ship Spencer Ind Thor's Hammer Alcatraz

 

Ok Lazyboy travelers... this is a five stop trip! Biltmore Gardens in NC, the Great Republic clipper ship, then let's head west to El Patio Motel near Spencer Indiana, and after resting start back westward to Thor's Hammer in Bryce Canyon National Park Utah and then last "DO NOT PASS GO BUT GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL" Alcatraz Island San Francisco!

Great Republic Clipper Sketched by Frank Braynard

OK Lazyboy travelers buckle up! Going back in time to the days of the clippers. And this postcard says this one was the largest of all clippers.

OK Marylanders Remember the Sunday Car Rides Out Route 40??

Ok Lazyboy postcard travelers we are going back in time and back to my birth state Maryland. Route 40 is still there. And it still goes through Baltimore and on out west to where these pics on both sides of the 8 panels are or were. Wonder how many of these places are still there. I remember the Sunday car rides full of family and fun checking out the "country" which is what we city folks called route 40 out past the Ellicott City area! And more recently the trips that took us out 40 to connect with the interstates south through Virginia on the western side of Virginia. For those we did travel way west on 40 and it is still really rural and beautiful!
