Longhorns of the Wichitas Postcard

Well Downsizer Laziboy Postcard traveler perfect day to visit here. We lost one of our favorite cowboys this week...Gunsmoke's James Arness. We spent many an hour out west with him, and his pals on our little tv screens! Well done Gunsmoke!

On the lighter side I was soooo excited to spot cows with these kind of horns while riding down our roads here in Florida when we moved here several years ago. And then yesterday...no kidding!...we saw a group of them in that rusty red color like the one behind the resting spotted cow in this postcard. THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL!

Fishing in Wilson New York, 100% High School Graduation in 2008 & Luther Wilson

Ok Postcard Travelers grab a jacket and fasten your Lazyboy Seatbelt! Neat journey today. This postcard has the cool fishing scene on the front which was taken by Bill Myers. And then at Wikipedia I found out Luther Wilson saved a lot of cows during the British invasion of the War of 1812. AND then I found a lot of land was donated to churches to build on by Wilson . AND I read that in 2008 they graduated 100% at their high school.
We a;ready have Niagara Falls on our bucket list and this is near there so I guess we will swing by and check it out ! Cool guy that Luther Wilson!

Have You Ever Seen An Ugly Kitten? Nawwww!

Soooo cute! Reminds me of our old tiger tabby Randy who lived to be 18 years old!
My husband has developed asthmatic reactions to cats since then so we have to enjoy pics of these smart little creatures. They are so independent and have such pride and confidence and can show such love if they like you!

Just Arrived in New York The Wonder City No Place Like It!

Ok Postcard Travelers buckle up in your Lazyboy!
We are heading north to New York
City the Wonder City.
This postcard is a photo postcard. I have been to New
York City twice. Everyone should go there. Once I went
in the 60s and all the women had Jackie Kennedy hairdos.
And looking down from the hotel there were people walking
all through the night! Not like Sun City Center in Florida!
The other time was to visit our daughter in Staten
Island. We were there and took the ferry over on New
Years Day and it was cold! But the perfect day to take
the bus tour around town. Loved it!The only thing I want
to go back to see that we didn't see were the Rockettes.

Anyway, this postcard is up for auction on Ebay and described
here:

How Did St. Louis in Jackson Square Fare in Katrina?

Well Laziboy postcard travelers welcome back!
Been out hanging out with visiting snowbirds and enjoying family, friends and Florida sites!
But now I am ready to go to Louisiana. While listing this postcard and enjoying the beauty of the Cathedral I began to wonder how it fared during Katrina. Beautiful postcard. Unused. Not new. Click here if interested in buying this postcard:

Do You Know Who Are Believed to Be the Descendents of the Wild Asses of Africa?

Buckle up Lazyboy Travelers...long trip this time...to Ireland as we downsize this postcard. What an interesting animal! The Irish Donkey. You know, the donkey is mentioned many times in the Bible and it is very interesting to see its part in our faith's history.

And now I come across this really neat postcard and find its part in Irish history later than the Biblical part.

Would You Like a Date?

If so, here is the place to go!

OK postcard travelers if you like dates let's head out west. Here is a date harvest in Coachella Valley S. California. Back in time to 1977. As it states on the back of the postcard: "Protected by bags and picked individually, the fine dates now raised in this valley, are irrigated by water from the Colorado River." MMMM I tasted my first date jam/jelly awhile back. Our son-in-law's dad and mom raise fig trees and make the jam/jelly. Soooo good!

Would You Like to Have Grown Up in Hyde Park NY?

The back of the postcard states the family played, read and entertained here in this spacious room. Wonder what games they played, what books they read and who they entertained. You remember, Downsizers, before tvs and computers LIFE WAS REALLY DIFFERENT and simple. The room is beautiful. We want to see Niagara Falls. That is on our bucket list. Maybe this would be another interesting NY stop!

Back in time to California and the Cable Cars Check out Cars and Outfits!

About 4 inches by about 6 inches.   Unused.  Not new. Scalloped edges. Photo Courtesy Pan American Airways. Dexter Press. Smith Novelty co.. The colors in the front remind me of the old "colorized" black and white movies on tv. Check out the cars and the people's clothes.

The usual "not new" conditions exist of  surface & corner/edgewear and  age discoloration on the backs of the older postcards that go with their ages. The back of this particular postcard has stained darker around the edges than most.
Great for post card collectors, card makers, crafters and/or scrap bookers.

Cable Cars & Alcatraz!

Ok postcard travelers, buckle up your Lazyboy! Off across the country. I have never been to California but I have taught its geography and history so many years in 5th grade. I would love to see it! My mother the traveler said it was so hard to get there to settle there you had to be crazy to try it and if you weren't  you would be by the t ime you got there! And that is why so many crazy things happen out there!
So funny! She really liked it there! San Francisco is definitely an area I would like to see!
Check this postcard out here if you want to bid on it:
